Thanks for visiting!

My name is Karen Harrington and I have been in this wonderful industry for near on 30 years.  I have owned three successful salons (one at a time)  and I still do, Plus I had a beauty school where I taught anyone who wanted to be a beauty therapist.

Beauty therapy is not hard to perfect, however like anything it takes practice.  It also takes proper teaching and repartition.  I know when I learn something I don’t always understand the first time I see it.  I, like most people, have to see something  demonstrated several times to properly grasp what is being taught.

Because learning isn’t pretty, when you get right down to it.  You’ve got to put your ego aside, and roll up your sleeves in order to work like a dog applying what you learn.

I first got the idea of Beauty Courses Online out of pure frustration when my apprentices came to work after being at school and where they were shown a technique once and then were told to go and practice it.  There are not too many people who can learn that way, which prompted me to think of a way that someone could  go home or somehere quite  and watch the technique over and over again until they understood at least the basics.  Perfection comes with practice but you must have the foundation on which to build.  There  is no way around that.

Because these courses are on DVD and are so detailed in content, I have found that I can teach anyone who wants to learn beauty therapy, Better, Cheaper, Faster and Easier, even when they have absolutely no experience in this industry.

ALL it takes is commitment..

If you have a look at my proposition you will see that I give 60 day money back Guarantee on my courses because I know that if you apply yourself, you cannot fail.

As far as I know there is no other course as detailed and as inexpensive as this course.  My DVD’s have literally hours of detailed instruction and you are not left alone.  I  will help you when you get stuck.

This is not hard folks…….. If you have always wanted to be a Beauty Therapist, this is your chance.

If you would like to know more, you can either go to our main Beauty Course Website, or you can register with our Member site Club Beauty where you can see some more  videos, sample eBooks and other stuf which may interest you.

Beauty and the Beast 3D – Official Trailer 2012 (HD)

Disney’s Beauty and the Best is being released in 3D, so you can enjoy the classic tale in an all new way!

Release Date – January 12, 2012
Choreographer – Mary Anderson

Based on the classic French fairy tale, it tells the story of Belle (voiced by Paige O’Hara), an intelligent young woman scorned by her townspeople for being a bookworm, weary of fighting off the advances of the arrogant Gaston (Richard White), and dreaming of escape. When her father gets lost in the woods and captured by the forbidding Beast (Robby Benson), a once-handsome prince turned into a monster by a witch, Belle goes off to rescue him. Taken with her, the Beast agrees to release Belle’s father if she agrees to stay with him forever. Initially repulsed, Belle soon finds much to appreciate in the Beast’s hidden, tender nature. The Beast’s servants — a clock (David Ogden Stiers), a teapot (Angela Lansbury), and a candlestick (Jerry Orbach) — see Belle as their salvation: if the Beast and a woman fall in love before his 21st birthday, he will be free from the curse. The songs are first-class, the tale is told with sincerity but not sentimentality, and the characters of Belle and the Beast, complex individuals who defy stereotyping and change over the course of the story, are more three-dimensional than in most live-action movies. The eye-popping animation is beautifully rendered, and Beauty and the Beast certainly deserves its place amongst Disney’s animated classics.

whats the difference between a diploma and a NVQ?

Im only 15 but i’ve started to look at the courses online at the college i would like to go to when im 16.
I’ve always wanted to do something with hair and beauty so im going to do a hairdressing course. I’m going to miss doing level one because its simple things that i already know and it says you dont have to do it. So im going to do hairdressing level 2 diploma. I looked at another college i could attend and it has NVQ’s and diplomas. whats the difference? what is better?

NVQ = National Vocational Qualification. Basically, when you complete an NVQ, an assessor will watch you work and mark what you are doing against a list of criteria you need to meet.

A diploma is a higher qualification and will include the NVQ as part of it, so you’ll still be observed whilst you work, but the added part is that you will have to show that you have the knowledge of the job by completing tests and answering questions on your chosen topic. It’s a bit more work on your part but will probably be more useful in the end. Good luck!

Now You Know: Michelle Phan

Happy 25th Birthday to Michelle Phan and Happy Launch date to FAWN–the first online beauty, fashion, and lifestyle NETWORK catered to women!

I knew fate would hopefully have us cross paths one day, but NEVER had I imagine it’d be at her launch/birthday, let alone as their red carpet correspondent! To finally sit down and interview Michelle was a complete honor as I’ve truly been inspired by what she has done not only in the makeup and beauty industry, but how she has changed the internet game to inspire an online generation of content developers.

I was so inspired, I also found the courage to write one of my first blog posts on my new website (Thanks to Michelle for sharing on her page!):

http://www.nickisun.com/2012/04/13/being-asian-in-entertainment-media-and-a-note-to-my-strong-women/

HUGE thanks to Cora De Jesus and Richard Frias for making this interview, red carpet, and event happen for me!

And of course, to Andrew Rose for being my amazing cameraman EXTRAORDINAIRE and for filming and being so patient with me! First time shooting with the new 5D Mark 3 (for all the tech nerds like me out there!). Low light was AMAZING–no need for those candles (that got in the shot!)

Also, thanks to the guys who offered us candles and cake throughout our interview :P
